Ordering of Repeat Medication from 01.04.2020

As part of the NHS Digital forward plan and to minimise medication risks, we ask that all patients where possible use an alternative method of ordering REPEAT prescriptions instead of using the prescription answerphone line.

Medication can be ordered through SystmOnline (please see Reception for a username and password), the NHS app or your local Pharmacy.

However for patients who are unable to use any other services you will ONLY BE ABLE TO USE THE ANSWERPHONE LINE FOR MEDICATIONS WHICH YOU REGULARLY RECEIVE.

Please note The Village Group Practice reserves the right to withdraw the answerphone line if patients misuse this.

Requests for repeat prescriptions can be made either by calling the surgery on 01302 300322 or 01302 770327 where you have the opportunity to leave a voicemail, by sending a fax to 01302 300737 or 01302 771302 OR by handing your repeat request into reception at either surgery site.

Please give up to 2 working days notice for all repeat prescriptions, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays where exceptions will be made in request for repeat prescriptions. Patients on certain types of medication will need to be routinely reviewed to reassess each individual patients needs. Patients will be informed of this when their course of treatment is commenced.

Please do not order your prescriptions too soon, unless there is a valid reason. Your next issue due date is printed on the repeat medication counterfoil. Give us at least 3-5 working days for the renewal of your monthly repeat prescription. We will not dispense before that date unless there is a good reason.

Urgent requests will be dealt with immediately if necessary but will always be ready for collection within 1 working day. The practice will post prescriptions on receipt of a written request and a stamped addressed envelope.

We cannot dispense to any patient living within 1.6km of a pharmacy and those outside of 1.6km still have the choice of using a pharmacy if they so wish.

Order & collection of prescriptions and dispensed medication

You can order or collect your prescription or dispensed medication, from the relevant surgery during the opening times listed above. Please allow 2 working days from the point of submission to the collection of the prescription or medication. The dispensary will take electronic payments for medication only.

Electronic Prescribing

The Electronic Prescribing Service is available to all of our patients upon request from either surgery site.

The Village Group Practice will be able to electronically deliver your prescription to the Pharmacy of your choice. Please speak directly to your Pharmacy to arrange a nomination.

There are information leaflets about this service available which are available at the reception desks from either surgery site.
